We are now past the halfway mark in the 2022-23 Premier League season and have looked at the best eleven players of the current season. League leaders Arsenal have been in fine form, picking up 50 points from their 19 games, and several of their young stars have made it into our best XI.
GK – Aaron Ramsdale
Ramsdale’s big-money move from Sheffield United has paid off and he has become a vital part of Arsenal’s season, conceding just 16 goals in 19 games.
DEF – Kieran Trippier
Trippier moved to Newcastle from Atlético Madrid after winning the La Liga championship in Spain. The England international claimed that right-back Diego Simeone helped him improve as a defender, and this season, the right-back has excelled both defensively and offensively.
DEF – William Saliba
This season, the young Frenchman has participated in all of Arsenal’s league games and has even contributed with two goals and an assist. After returning from loan stints in France, he has contributed to the strengthening of the back four at the Emirates.
DEF – Oleksandr Zinchenko
Zinchenko was outstanding in Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Manchester United for Arsenal, and he did it without trying to be swayed by recency bias. He affected play centrally and was essential to securing the three points as he crossed before Eddie Nketiah tucked away the late winner while primarily playing as an inverted left-back. Following Mikel Arteta from Manchester to London might turn out to be a very wise choice.
MID – Bukayo Saka
The fact that Saka is only 21 is ominous. Roy Keane asserts that he can play for Real Madrid and reach the pinnacle of the sport. This season, he has played for the Gunners in every league game and contributed to seven goals and seven assists for a total of 14 goals.
Casemiro has been crucial to United’s direction change. The Brazilian international has improved the club’s midfield by adding balance, knowledge, and quality. Being a natural winner, he lets forwards like Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes do what they do best.
MID – Martin Ødegaard
Captain Ødegaard exudes class and is responsible for Arsenal’s fantastic first half of the season. His wonderful left foot keeps Arsenal in motion. The Norwegian has played a crucial role in Arsenal’s title defense as one of Arteta’s captains.
MID – Miguel Almirón
Almirón and Newcastle have both shocked people this season. In 20 league appearances this season, the elusive Paraguayan winger has an incredible nine Premier League goals and one assist. With a man who scored just once in 30 league games the previous season, Eddie Howe has done marvels.
FWD – Marcus Rashford
With Erik ten Hag, Rashford appears to be a new player and has recovered his spark. The United attacker has scored nine league goals since the season began because he has suddenly developed the confidence that was clearly lacking previously. He is now among the first names listed for Ten Hag on the team sheet.
FWD -Erling Haaland
